Alessandra Torres was born and raised in Venezuela - country with deep cultural Spaniard influence - where she has been related to the world of Flamenco since she was 9 years old by the hand of 3 well known teachers: La China de Jerez, Siudy Quintero y Azilde Henriquez.

At the age of seventeen became one of the principal dancers of “ La compania professional de baile Siudy Quintero”; with this professional company traveled and performed not only in the most important theaters in Venezuela but in the Pittsburgh’s Opera in 1992 under the director Tito Capobianco. The same year, she received her bachelor degree in Mass Communication at the Loyola University in Venezuela (Universidad Catolica Andres Bello).

In almost 30 years carrier, Alessandra have traveled around Spain to take classes and workshops with teachers and dancers such as Ma. Magdalena, La China, Ciro, La Tati, Belen Maya, Carmela Greco, Domingo Ortega, Miguel Vargas, Daniela Tugues.

In October 2005 she moved to Florida where worked dictating workshops at a professional level. Nowadays, she lives in Pennsylvania teaching at the School of Visual and Performing Arts, Pocono Dance Center and YMCA in the Pocono Area and offering Flamenco workshops in “Pasion y Arte” in Philadelphia.

Alessandra Torres is working in divulging such a wonderful and powerful art called Flamenco trough not only classes but exhibitions. Some of her recent performances include: The Spring Recital  and The winter Dance Festival 2007 with School Of Visual and Performing Arts, Telethon Big brothers 2008 with Pocono Dance Center and a Performance in the Annual Ymca Appreciation Dinner 2007.
