In the 1860s the King of Siam engages Anna Leonowens, to teach his royal princes and princesses. As the story unfolds, Anna feels she must leave Siam, and makes preparations to return to England. Before she can leave, the King falls seriously ill. On his death-bed the King implores her to stay on in Siam, and the royal children join his plea. Can Anna find it in her heart to leave a country, a people and, most of all, the pupils she has come to love?
Songs include “Whistle a Happy Tune”, “Getting to Know You” and many others.
THE KING AND I is presented through special arrangement with R & H Theatricals: www.mh.com.
